Putting young key populations first — HIV and young people from key populations in the Asia and Pacific region 2022

This report describes the HIV epidemic among young people from key populations in the region, takes stock of HIV programmes for such people, and pinpoints the priority actions that will speed up progress towards ending the AIDS epidemic as a public health threat in the Asia and Pacific region.

A core working group of partners from the region developed this advocacy report, including representatives from the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and Youth LEAD. The report shows that young people face huge challenges when trying to access HIV and sexual and reproductive health and rights information and services, including discrimination, social inequalities, marginalization and violence. More must be done to ensure young people in all their diversity have the information and services they need to protect themselves against HIV and its impact.
